1357668 Antiskid braking systems ALFRED TEVES GmbH 15 June 1972 [18 June 1971] 28055/72 Heading F2F In a vehicle antiskid braking system a piston 6 movable between two extreme positions is provided in a line between master cylinder and wheel cylinder and moves under the control of input and output valves 12, 13 to modify the braking pressure when signals indicating actual or incipient wheel lock are received from a sensor, the piston having a face to which pressure is applied from the master cylinder against a spring 8 and an annular surface 10 against which pressure fluid from an accumulator acts under the control of valves 12, 13. In the rest position a by-pass bore 18 connects the master cylinder to cylinder bore 3 but when the brakes are applied piston 6 moves forward to seal off the by-pass by a collar 19 and brake pressure is applied through output port 2 to the wheel cylinders. If a skid signal is received valve 13 is closed and valve 12 opened so that pressure fluid from an accumulator enters annular chamber 9 to act on surface 10 and retract the piston 6 to release the brakes. |
