PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain polyethylene-2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate (PEN) usable for bottles with excellent hue, transparency, thermal stability and moldability, in particular suitable for recyclable bottles. SOLUTION: This polyethylene-2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate resin (PEN) resin satisfies the following formulas I to IV simultaneously: formula I: 0.55<=[η]<=0.75 ([η] is intrinsic viscosity), formula II: the amount of the terminal carboxyl groups in the polymer <=32 eq/T, formula III: the amount of acetaldehyde in the polymer <=8 ppm, and formula IV: 0.8 <= the amount of diethylene glycol component in the polymer (wt.%) <=3.0.
