Equipment bonds strips or bands of anti-skid material on to a plastic moulding. In the system a conveyor moves the mouldings. An overhead arrangement moves vertically to hold mouldings and has welding devices on both sides of the conveyor. Each such welder has a plate with bars and screw drives at the ends. Each plate can be moved vertically when the screw drive rotates. Each also has a carriage which moves to/from the side of the conveyor. The carriage has end guide rollers on the conveyor side. A frame member with top rollers, a gripping device for the mouldings and sensor to indicate the position of the anti skid materials are all on the front of the carriage. Welding appts. and holders for the anti-skid materials are positioned on each of the number of plates and can be moved at right angles to the movement of the carriage, the plates being mounted on the carriage; the welders have a feeder for the anti-skid materials, a hot air gun and pressure rollers so as to apply pressure on to the anti-skid materials fed from their stores. The welders are attached to a plate which is applied to the moving plate. The welding appts. can all be operated separately. ADVANTAGE - The system welds anti-skid materials on to both sides of loading pallets at the same time. It is compact. The welding devices themselves can be made mobile. It can also orientate the mouldings used and can hold them in position. |
