The invention relates to a composition containing a compound which can release free SH groups, an accompanying substance which can act as a carrier or complexing substance, and a reduction agent. According to the invention, the supply of SH groups can be modulated. The inventive composition is suitable for treating complaints associated with an oxidation-reduction imbalance.
