The housing (4) of a card type connector (2) is designed to have an external shape and size substantially the same as a standardized memory card. By inserting the housing (4) into a memory card connector (22) of a personal computer (200), the personal computer (200) and a hard disk drive (210) are connected by a cable (36) extending from the housing (4) of the card type connector (2), so that data transmission and reception can be performed between the personal computer (200) and the hard disk drive (210).
