A method and system is provided for conducting multiple access simultaneous tele phone communications in full duplex either over the power lines of a building or over a common RF transmission means . The method employs a combination of multiple access techniques selected from among the following: time division (57), code di vision (48, 52), and frequency division (56). The following features result: (a) security coding to prevent unauthorized acces s and eavesdropping, (b) multiple simultaneous conversations through identical and closely coupled transmission media, (c) noninterference to other communications systems and users, and (d) processing gain for operating in noisy environments. The meth od also relates to improvements in cordless telephone communication.
