MAN-HOLE TYPE BASE STATION, MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM PROVIDED WITH IT, AND HAND-OFF CONTROL METHOD IN THE MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly avoid a defect such as the reduction in the service area or interruption or the like for communication in the case of existence of an obstacle on a man-hole cover so as to ensure a wider service area. SOLUTION: A wall part 15 forming a space in which a transmission reception antenna 11 is placed is tapered to spread the space from a base station equipment 12 toward an upper face of a man-hole cover 10, and th taper angle changes with a size of a service area. Furthermore, in the case that a pressure sensor 17 and a radio wave sensor 18 are used and presence of an obstacle on the man-hole cover 10 is detected, the control for communication to a mobile station is switched to other base station without calculation and processing of an electric field strength in the base station.
