Detection devices are provided for determining the position of a container to be picked up and which work in conjunction with a control device. The control device can cause the vehicle to move forwards or backwards, being connected to the vehicle drive mechanism via its automatic gearbox. The control device also drives a running roller system which acts on one or more wheels of the vehicle.
