<p>In an information processing system (300), a first sequence (202) of icons are displayed one after the other in a field (204) on the display (312). The icon (204) being displayed is made selectable to the user of the system. Upon selection of a particular icon (204) of the first sequence, a second sequence (208) of icons associated with the selected icon of the first sequence are displayed one after the other in another field (214) on the display. The sequences of icons, displayed in the different fields, constitute a hierarchical two-level menu structure which can now be realised with only two fields on the display.</p> |
