The belt consists of a sliding waist band (5) with a back support (1) and a connector (3) for a pole (4) or ski stick held by the instructor while a novice skier or snowboarder is learning the initial movements. The connector is flexible enough for the pole to be held at any angle relative to the plane of the waist band, and the whole assembly can be made in one piece from a plastic material by injection molding, with a fastening of a self-adhesive material such as Velcro (RTM). In a variant the belt can be made from two layers (5, 6) of a textile material with an inner lining (7) of a slippery material to reduce friction between it and the novice's clothing. |
