发明名称 METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THERMAL FUSION BONDING OF OPTICAL FIBER
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect end parts of two optical fibers by fusion bonding as preferably as possible by pressing fused fiber end parts against each other along the fibers by a certain feed distance beyond the end-surface contact place. SOLUTION: Both optical fibers FE1 and FE2 have fusion bonded electrodes EL1 and EL2 on both sides in their lengthwise extension directions. The optical fibers which are fused so as to form as a desired fusion bonding connection as possible with cross section geometric shape characteristics between the optical fibers FE1 and FE2 as both fiber end parts are pressed against each other long the fibers by a certain feed distance VOZ4 beyond the contact line LK of the end surfaces SF1 and SF2. The extent of the certain feed distance VOZ4 is larger as the end surfaces SF1 and SF2 deviate more from the shapes of the prescribed end surfaces IF1 and IF2.
