The activating device for opening and closing door leaves comprises a motor (6) with an output shaft (7). The shaft is coupled by a first movement transmission (8) to a first operating arm (9) mechanically connected to the first leaf. A second movement transmission (10) couples the shaft to a second operating arm (11) connected to the second leaf. On activation of the motor a torque is transmitted to each leaf pivoting it either toward the open or closed position. Each movement transmission is constituted by two transmission segments (8a,8b,10a,10b) coupled to each other by a delayed action coupling (14) for the first transmission (8) and by a torsion spring part (15) for the second. The device engenders a delay in closing of the leaf with the cover joint.
