PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure holding force, reduce the area of a board and miniaturize a connector by forming the depth of a base insulator shorter than the length of a contact holding part and receiving the tip of the contact holding part in a receiving part of a slide insulator. SOLUTION: A conductive contact 1 having a contact part, a contact terminal, a board receiving part and a contact holding part 1d is inserted into a contact receiving hole 3f of an insulating base insulator 3. After an FPC or FFC is fitted in the board receiving part of the contact 1, a slide insulator 4 is mounted on top of it by sliding it and the FPC/FFC is brought into press contact with and connected to the contact part of the contact 1 by the aid of a lid piece 4b. In this FPC/FFC connector, the depth of the opening of the base insulator 3 is made so small that a tip of the contact holding part 1d received here is protruded, and the protruded part is received in an unpenetrated hole 4c of the slide insulator 4. |
