PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copying device capable of reducing the power consumption by driving a transporting means only when residual paper is present in a paper sheet transporting route. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a residual paper sensor consisting of such as a paper feed sensor 11, a transfer section sensor 12 and a relay transportation sensor 13, in the respectively appropriate section in the paper sheet transporting route, and at the time when the residual paper sensor detects the residual paper derived from the paper jamming in the section thereof, this information is stored in a backup memory. Then, the device is allowed to display the paper sheet transporting state and the presence or absence of the residual paper, on a display panel of the operation section. Moreover, the main body is provided with a dual batteries therein, and allowed, in the case that the backup memory is storing the presence of residual paper at the time of external power source break, to discharge the residual paper by driving transporting means until when the same is out. |
