<p>A brake pedal immobilizing device has first and second shafts (1, 2) with crossheads (3, 4) mounted thereon for relative longitudinal sliding movement to clamp a brake pedal shaft (61) between them. The second shaft (2) carries a stand-off formed by a floor engaging foot (39) extending longitudinally aligned below the crossheads, supporting the device on the vehicle floor during clamping adjustment. The second crosshead (4) is formed with a hook (17) and is rotatively mounted on one end of the first shaft (1) while the other crosshead (3) is mounted on the first shaft (1) in a screw fit. An upper end of the first shaft (1) is received in a sleeve (21) with a shaft locking mechanism (36) and terminates in a handle (35). A third crosshead (5) carries a third shaft (6) slidingly received in the first crosshead (3) and having a lower end forming a locking/wedging pin for receipt in a bore in the second crosshead (4) in the clamping position to complete enclosure of the brake pedal shaft (61). A barrier frame (53) is attached to the first crosshead (3) above a brake pedal (60) to block forcing tool access.</p> |
