Solder from a heated bath (1) is applied to the outer surface of the tube (9). Rings (2) on the tube dip into the solder, so that rotation of the tube rotates the rings. Solder, transported in the tapered boer of the rings, is deposited on the tube. Stops (4) prevent horizontal travel of the rings. The tinned tube passes under a scraper (7), which returns excess solder to the bath.
