The invention relates to a fuel cell (1) with a degassing device (4) for the fuel which is delivered to the fuel cell. Gases are separated out of the liquid fuel and removed. Gas, for example, is separated out of a liquid in which a liquid placed under pressure is suddenly expanded. Liquids dissolve under pressure of a large quantity of gas. During sudden expansion, these liquids release the gasses in the form of bubbles. This is achieved, for example, by means of an ultrasound source. A collector (5) is arranged above the tank (2) and is connected to said tank via a line. Performance reduced effects which arise from gasses dissolved in fuel are avoided in this manner.
