PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst composition which is used for hydroformylating an ethylene-based unsaturated compound with carbon monoxide and hydrogen and is suitable for solventless evaporation separation of a reaction product. SOLUTION: When liquid mixture of a supply material of an unsaturated compound and a hydroformylation product in volume ratio of 2:1 in (a) a supply source of palladium, platinum or nickel cation, (b) a supply source of an anion except a halide anion, (c) a supply of at least one kind of bidentate ligand of the formula R<1> R<2> M<1> RM<2> R<3> R<4> [in the formula, M<1> and M<2> are independently phosphorus, arsine or antimony atom; R is a bifunctional cross-linking group containing one to four atoms in the cross-linking] and optionally (d) a promoter in the molar ratio of the components (a) to (c) of 1:2:1 at a circumferential temperature under atmospheric pressure is made into a slurry, a catalytic system in which an amount of at least 2×10<-4> mol ion (a) is solubilized based on 1 liter of the liquid mixture is selected as the catalytic system. |
