PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a curling nature or folding nature by forming a coating film of an ultraviolet curable paint containing spherical elastic beads at least on one side piece of a flexible olefin resin sheet. SOLUTION: A coating film 20 of an urethane-acrylic ultraviolet curable paint containing spherical elastic beads 21 made of urethane resin having a particle size of 4 to 25μm (mean particle size of 15μm) is formed on one side surface of an olefin resin sheet 11. A content of the beads 21 is 25 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the paint. And, prior to formation of the film 20 of the paint, a reference line 3 to become a measure of a position for writing a character is printed. In the mat for the calligraphy constituted as described above, a curling nature or folding nature is not incorporated likewise in an underlay for the calligraphy made of a felt. And, since it has excellent flaw resistance and wear resistance, the mat can be used for a long period.
