PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work feeder in a movable spindle-type vertical machine tool, which is able to grip a work adhered closely to a chuck without imposing a large load to the spindle side when the work to be machined is received by the spindle-side chuck. SOLUTION: A work feeder is provided with a revolving body 41, which is installed in a work feeder substratum 32 prepared at a prescribed position in the vicinity of a machine main body 2 of a movable spindle type vertical machine tool 1 and which is driven by a driving means 40 for taking a revolving action, a plurality of pallets 19, which are installed in the revolving body 41 so that they can move on a transferring surface of the substratum 32 and on which works 7, 8 are mounted, and a supporting device, which is arranged at a work giving and receiving position D on the substratum 32 at which the pallet 19 is positioned in order to give/receive the works 7, 8 to/from a chuck and which supports the pallet 19, which is installed in the substratum 32 and positioned at the work giving and receiving position D, in such a manner that the pallet 19 can be free to move vertically in the direction of the axis of the spindle. Thus, giving and receiving of the works 7, 8 can be done, while the works 7, 8 are pushed against the chuck with a prescribed load. |
