PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inventory control system capable of controlling comprehensively, efficiently and appropriately the materials being controlled by two or more warehouses including those remaining on a large number of vehicles. SOLUTION: A scanner 13 for each vehicle, is connected to a connecting section 9 of a warehouse personal computer 5 to fetch the information on the material replenishment which is transmitted from a center computer 1 to the warehouse personal computer 5 for displaying it. Materials corresponding to this information are loaded on a vehicle while counting with the vehicular scanner 13, and carried to a site, where the materials are counted by the vehicular scanner 13 while they are being unloaded, and the item and quantity of the material to be used there are input. When the vehicle returns to a warehouse, the vehicular scanner 13 is connected to the warehouse personal computer 5 to transfer the information on the material items and quantity to be used to the warehouse personal computer 5. The warehouse personal computer 5 transfers this information to the center computer 1. Using the information on the material and quantity to be used, the center computer 1 updates the material remaining on each vehicle and the inventory of each warehouse, and centrally controls the inventory of the whole system. |
