PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and smoothly guide sweet potato vines, etc., to the cutting blade and the raking part of a cutter and to prevent the sweet potato vines, etc., from being caught by the front edge of the cutter in a nonoperation state during the treatment of the sweet potato veins, etc. SOLUTION: A nipping and transporting apparatus 31 is provided with a raking part (x) and cutters 21 are laid at the right and left sides of the raking part (x). Dividers 25 are extended from the cutters and each of the dividers 25 is furnished with a projecting rod 25a and a raising guide rod 25b. The front part of the guide rod 25b is laid backward at a relatively small contained angleθin a plan view, successively the rear side part of the guide rod is laid slantingly backward at a relatively large contained angleθ1 in a plan view and the rear end of the guide rod is brought close to the outer position p1 of the raking part at the side corresponding to the rear end. Each divider can be rocked and operated around a projecting rod (a) and the projecting rod is opposed to a cutting blade 22 ahead the cutting blade 22 of the cutter.
