PURPOSE:To generate a deformed character of high picture quality by adding an attribute corresponding to the state of each approximate straight or curved line to data obtained by approximating the contour of a character to the straight or curved line, and varying the line width and deforming the contour shape. CONSTITUTION:The font memory 1 of an attribute adding means 100 is stored with outline data generated by adding the attribute to the data obtained by approximating the character contour to the straight or curved line. The attribute decoding means 3 of a deforming means 200 decodes the attribute of the outline data and supplies the decoding result to a line width adjusting means 5 and a shape deforming means 7. The means 5 changes coordinate points according to the line width of a parameter setting means 2 and the attribute of the character. The shape converting means 7 changes the respective coordinate points of the attribute of the character according to the decoding result of the means 3. Then a font generating means 300 performs affine conversion by an affine converting means 8. Consequently, the character of high quality is generated by varying the line width of strokes and deforming the contour shape, part by part. |
