<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To travel while following up a preceding vehicle on its own lane continuously even if a large vehicle is traveling on an adjacent lane at the time of scanning the transmitting/receiving radio wave. SOLUTION: The on-vehicle radar comprises means 6 for transmitting/ receiving a radio wave of relatively high frequency, and a signal processing means 10 for determining the relative distance to an object, the relative speed of the object, or the like, based on a radio wave transmitted from the transmitting/receiving means 6 and received by the transmitting/receiving means 6 after being reflected on the object. The transmitting/receiving means 6 controls power of the transmitting radio wave lower in a specified transmitting direction than other transmitting direction, or controls power of the transmitting radio wave not to be damped even if the power of receiving radio wave exceeds a specified level in the transmitting direction other than the specified transmitting direction but to be damped in the specified transmitting direction when the power of receiving radio wave is higher than the specified level.</p> |
