PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix panel that can be used for analog image display and also for character display. SOLUTION: The device is installed with two systems of color video signal lines 1R, 1G, 1B, 2R, 2G, 2B, with plural switching elements 11, 12, 13,... for connecting each of these signal lines to each data line, and with a driving pulse generating circuit 6 for successively generating a driving pulse PC1, PC2, PC3,... that controllably opens and closes plural switching elements, applying an odd numbered driving pulse to the switching elements corresponding to the color video signals of the first system, and an even numbered driving pulse to those of the second system. |
