摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a device, to reduce costs, and to extend life, by selecting one of a plurality of input terminals due to an AC bidirectional switching circuit, by outputting an input voltage to an output terminal while proper performing switching, and by establishing a required AC voltage. SOLUTION: A device converts voltage due to a single-phase power supply 1 to an AC voltage being required for system compensation by an AC power conversion device 6 for directly converting the AC voltage to a DC voltage, and adds the AC voltage to a power system 4 via a serially connected transformer 5, thus compensating for a system. Also, a filter or a transformer may be inserted to the input and output sides of the AC power conversion device 6, the system side of the serially connected transformer 5, or the like when needed. Therefore, a DC intermediate circuit is not required in a series system compensation device, thus miniaturizing the device and reducing costs. Also, the power conversion device consists of a semiconductor switch with life that is longer than that of a DC capacitor, thus extending the life of the device.
