PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile radio terminal capable of quickly retrieving plural information items registered in an information registering part, and a method for controlling this terminal. SOLUTION: When quick dial keys P1, P2, and P3 are pressed by an operating part 10, a key operation configuration detecting part 601 detects whether or not the pressing time is beyond a specified time, and when it is beyond the specified time, an operation mode setting controlling part 602 sets a telephone book retrieval mode. In the telephone book retrieval mode, when the P1 key is pressed, a retrieving operation controlling part 604 successively retrieves telephone numbers registered in a telephone book registration table for each item, and when the P3 key is pressed, the retrieving operation controlling part 604 retrieves the telephone numbers for each item in the opposite sequence to that when the P1 key is pressed, and when the P2 key is pressed, the retrieving operation controlling part 604 operates a high speed retrieval by skipping the telephone numbers by index units assigned to the telephone numbers. |
