ELECTRIC BRAKE CIRCUIT FOR HARMONIC ABSORBING SYNCHRONOUS MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric brake circuit having a brake function alternative to the brake winding of a harmonic absorbing synchronous machine operated while being linked with an AC power supply system. SOLUTION: In order to block a sixth harmonic AC current generating a rotating field flowing from a 6f exciting power supply 2 into a DC exciting power supply 1 and to facilitate a low frequency induction current flow caused by disturbance of a power supply system thus providing a function for discriminating between both currents having significantly different frequency based on the frequency, a capacitor C1 is connected in parallel with a current limiting reactor L1 connected in series with the output circuit of the DC exciting power supply 1 thus forming a parallel resonance circuit. Resonance frequency of the parallel resonance circuit is set at 6f of sixth harmonic frequency for the frequency f of basic wave voltage.
