摘要 The circuit controls the amount of image compression data, that is processed in an image compression system using wavelet transform, accumulated in a channel buffer. Data is removed from the wavelet transformed image data, according to a reference value in a frequency band to which human eyes are less sensitive. A buffer stores compressed image data to be transmitted into a channel, for a predetermined time. A buffer controller has a reference value that is used to interpret the input speed of the compressed image data to the buffer over the time period. Integration values are added to the amount of data accumulated in the buffer, at a specific time, to estimate the amount of data to be accumulated for the next period. The estimated value is compared against the reference value and generates a processing signal, the starting point corresponding to the specific time. A vector assembly (20) removes the data having a high-frequency diagonal component from data forming the frame structure of the wavelet transformed (10) image according to the processing signal. The data reference value is divided into two parts: The first part generated for judging whether the amount of accumulated data is overflow; the second to minimize picture quality deterioration resulting from the removal of data having a diagonal component by the vector assembly. A third reference value indicates whether the amount of data accumulated in the buffer is underflow. An Independent claim is also included for a buffer data control method.
