<p>A rotary valve thermal oxidizer (10) including an interfacial seal (40) disposed between rotating and fixed valve portions to prevent the mixing of treated and untreated gas streams. In a preferred embodiment, the valve sealing device (40) includes a flowable sealing material (45) contained within a receptacle (43), and contacted by a partition (47) nested within the receptacle (43). Other sealing devices, as well as purge and/or sealing gases, may be employed to prevent leakage, while avoiding the use of machined parts.</p> |
