<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer composition that is useful for improving the water repellency and durability in fiber, nonwoven fabric, woven fabric and paper composition and provide a method for improving the water repellency and the durability in fiber, nonwoven fabric, woven fabric and paper composition. SOLUTION: This composition contains an emulsion polymer, as polymerization units, (i) (a) 9.5-99.9 pts.wt. of at least one of (meth)acrylic acid 12-40C alkyl ester, (b) 0-90 pts.wt. of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer of 15 or less carbon atoms, (c) 0 90 pts.wt. of at least one of ethylenically unsaturated acidcontaining monomer or its salt and (d) 0.1-10 pts.wt. of at least one of cross-linking monomer and (ii) 0-10 pts.wt. of at least one of a cross-linking agent based on the polymer weight, and contains 0.1-10 pts.wt. of cross-linking monomer and a cross-linking agent based on the polymer weight.</p> |
