Use of specific cytokines for Th1 and Th2 cells (auxiliary lymphocyte T1 and T2 cells) in medicines administered through buccal mucosa to stimulate mammalian defense mechanisms. Independent claims are included for compositions for administration to the buccal mucosa containing Th1 and Th2 stimulant cytokines.
