A process is disclosed for chromium plating workpieces. The workpieces are electrically contacted at the cathode side and led through a screen at the anode side, the screen covers the regions of the surface of the workpiece adjacent to the surfaces to be chromium plated, and the surfaces to be chromium plated are brought into an electrolyte bath. A plurality of workpieces can be easily chromium plated in a dimensionally accurate manner if the surfaces to be chromium plated are held facing the flat anode, forming identical potential planes.
