The invention relates to a self-aligning roller bearing (1), comprising two series of symmetrical rollers (2, 3), an external ring (4) with one curved external track (5), an internal ring (6) with two curved internal tracks (7, 8), and a guide ring. Said guide ring is located between the rollers (2, 3) and is configured as an circular annular disk. The inventive self-aligning roller bearing (1) is characterised first of all in that the guide ring (9) has a rectangular cross section and in that the centre line of said cross section runs parallel to the bearing axis (11). According to the example configuration, the guide ring (9) is also dimensioned in such a way that the rollers (2, 3) are axially prestressed. The front faces (14) of the rollers (2, 3) facing the guide ring (9) are configured in such a way that said front faces (14) only touch said guide ring (9) at one point.
