Display cassette has a carrier housing with at least one transparent hinged lid with an integral medium holder. The lid is lifted and pivoted from the housing and has a viewing plate and three side walls. The side walls are at least partially engaged when in the closed position with a spring mechanism between the lid and part of the housing. The spring displacement is greater than the closure stroke of the lid. The spring mechanism has at least one flexural spring shape- and/or force-locked to the housing.
