A gas-blast circuit-breaker with at least two switch-contact contact-tips (2,3) arranged on a common axis (1) and between which an arc-space (4) is formed, at least during the switch-off phase. A heating space (7) is provided coaxially to the common axis (1) and which, during a switch-off process, receives the resulting heated arc-extinguishing gas out of the switching-arc, burning between the switch-contact tips (2,3). Also included is a device for generating a magnetic field for supporting the switch-off process. Conventional first and second hollow fixed switch-contact tips (2,3) are provided on the common axis (1), mutually spaced apart, for removing arc-extinguishing gas. The fixed switch-contact pieces (2,3) are axially surrounded by a bridging-contact (5) connected to a switch-drive and axially displaceable, with the bridging contact exiting/leaving from the first switch contact piece (2) during the switch-off process.
