Disclosed is an electrical connector which includes a plug (410) comprising at least one insulative lateral support (416), an insulative medial lateral support (420) and a wire (422) having a first longitudinal section (426) fixed to the insulative lateral support (420) and an exposed third longitudinal section (430) interposed between said first longitudinal section and said second longitudinal section. The connector also includes a receptacle (434) comprising at least one insulative support and a wire (444) having a first longitudinal section (448) fixed to the insulative support and an exposed second longitudinal section (450) for contacting the exposed section (430) of the plug wire. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing this connector and a mold for use therein. Strain relief, high speed low cross talk and through mount embodiments are also disclosed. |
