PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make usable a miniaturized relative coordinate input type tablet, which is used in place of a mouse or track ball, also as an absolute coordinate input type tablet while securing the operability. SOLUTION: Coordinate data inputted to a tablet 20 for coordinate input are detected, the detected coordinate data are transformed to relative coordinate data with respect to a display screen 11, and it is controlled from the coordinate position of a mouse cursor 13 at the time of plot starting instruction reception whether the movement of the mouse cursor 13 displayed on the display screen 11 is to be controlled by these relative coordinate data or the detected coordinate data are to be transformed to absolute coordinate data to the display screen and plotting data provided on the display screen are to be plotted in a plotting data display area. When the mouse cursor 13 is located in the plotting data display area, the coordinate data inputted from the tablet 20 are transformed to the absolute coordinate data to the display screen 11.
