PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and quickly obtain map data around a destination. SOLUTION: When plural candidate place names previously registered in a user's slave equipment are displayed on a monitor television, an operator for the slave equipment inputs a map display instruction for displaying a required destination (ST11). The slave equipment transmits the map display information to a master equipment (ST12). The master equipment reads out map data corresponding to the map display instruction and transmits the read data to the slave equipment. The slave equipment receives and displays the map data (S15).
