PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mobile terminal which enhances the convenience of a user by different positioning methods by a method wherein first position information is computed by using a global positioning system(GPS), second position information is computed by using a personal handy phone system(PHS) and the position of a terminal is positioned on the basis of data as the first or second position information. SOLUTION: When the power-supply switch of an input/operation part 107 in a radio portable terminal 101 is turned on, a CPU 102 selects whether a positioning operation is performed by a GPS or a PHS. When the GPS is selected, the power supply of a GPS reception part 103 is turned on, and the reception of a plurality of GPS satellite transmitted waves is started. Whether three or more waves are received or not is discriminated, the position of the terminal 101 is computed so as to be stored on a position-information-data storage place in a RAM 105, and a latitude and a longitude are displayed on a display part 106. When the PHS is selected, or when three or more GPS satellite waves cannot be received after the elapse of a designated time, the address of a PHS base station near the terminal 101 is received by a positioning operation by the PHS, data inside a ROM 104 is retrieved, and a latitude and a longitude are displayed on the display part 106. |
