PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide developer having stable electrification in any environment, to prevent blur of letters or splashing of a toner, and to obtain a good image by incorporating toner particles containing a coloring agent and a binder resin, and as external additives, conductive silica particles and hydrophobic inorg. oxides. SOLUTION: This developer contains toner particles containing a coloring material and a binder resin, and conductive silica particles and hydrophobic inorg. oxides as external additives. By adding conductive silica particles as an external additive to the toner for the developer, charges accumulated in the toner can be leaked to the carrier or a developing device. By using the hydrophobic inorg. oxides together, fluidity of the developer is improved and the contact efficiency of the conductive silica to the carrier or a developing device can be increased. Further, this improves the contact electrification efficiency of the toner and the carrier so that sharp electrification distribution can be kept from low temp. low humidity conditions to high temp. high humidity conditions. |
