MULTIPLEXER/DEMULTIPLEXER AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain sure demultiplexing and decoding of MPEG4 data in the case of multiplexing the MPEG4 data into MPEG2 data. SOLUTION: A demultiplexer means 301 receives a multiplexed packet array resulting from multiplexing a plurality of object data, demultiplexes MPEG2 program information and provides an output of the information. An information analysis means 310 analyzes program information to acquire an identification number of a packet including object synthesis information defined by MPEG 4, identification information of the packet including information relating to the object data and identification number of the packet including data of MPEG4 and provides an output of them to the demultiplexer means 301. The demultiplexer means 301 demultiplexes and outputs data of the MPEG4 from a received multiplexed packet array while referencing the identification numbers of the packets.
