The flexible sheet bags (1,4) are transported by a conveyor having a number of conveyor elements (2,3) to an opening unit (8), filler unit (9), closure unit (10) and cooling unit (12). The conveyor arrangement consists of a first (6) and second (5) conveyor. A height-adjustable transfer unit (11) transfers the bags from the first to the second conveyor, and is situated near a platform (15).
