PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system of an electronic copying machine capable of improving reliability by preventing surely a thermal bad influence of an exposure lamp by a method wherein the exposure lamp is cooled by blowing air thereto always by changing an air blowing direction following an exposure scanning of the exposure lamp. SOLUTION: An optical system of an electronic copying machine is equipped with a first carriage 26 supporting freely movably an exposure lamp 28 along a copy placing stand 10; a drive mechanism M equipped with a pulley drive mechanism 41 wherein the carriage is fixed by fitting thereto, and a belt 51 hung over a plurality of pulleys 44 to 50 and a belt 51 are rotatably driven; a pivot mechanism 58 driven with the specific pulley 49, a casing 57 which is connected to the pivot mechanism, energized pivotally following transfer of the carriage, and always opposed to the carriage; and a cooling fan 56 which is equipped to the casing and blows always air onto the exposure lamp. |
