The pressurised container (2) is filled with fluid under pressure through a filling opening (3) and the closure (4) is then fixed in the opening (3) through friction welding. The pressure in the container is maintained at least up to the beginning of the friction welding process through a pressure chamber (12) which sealingly encloses the filling opening. The pressure container may be filled through the pressure chamber. The closure can be inserted into or against the filling opening through the pressure chamber. The closure is supplied by a holder (7) through the pressure chamber. The closure can be inserted with keyed engagement into the filling opening.
