A system (10) and a method for distributing Interactive Voice Response applications are disclosed. Callers (108) access a telecommunications system (107) having a plurality of telecommunications applications (115). A statistical/predictive demand engine (102) monitors historical application demand levels to predict future application requirements. Telecommunications applications are provided to processor nodes (103-1 to 103-N) in anticipation of future incoming calls that will require the applications. Applications that are not provided to the processor nodes in advance may be provided in real-time when an incoming call requires an unanticipated application. The applications are removed from the processor nodes when they are no longer needed by incoming calls.
