The unit has a motor (16) for driving the drum (10), and a rotation speed detector for the motor. A revolution speed control ensures a constant voltage for the motor, which consequently generates a constant torque while the drum speed rises from zero to a predefined speed. The actual motor speed registered by the speed detector is held to an ideal speed after the motor speed has reached the predefined one.
