System with external radiation source for radiotherapy

The system has a controllable external radiation source (8) and a location system (3-6) co-operating with it, to control the radiation source, and to transmit radiation at an internal target body (1). The location system has a reference catheter, which has a known spatial relationship with the target object. The catheter is so designed, that it produces an associated output signal corresponding to its position, to control the radiation source.
