PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent picture quality from being deteriorated in the case of executing decoding processing for picture data inputted in each packet consisting of plural block data through a memory. SOLUTION: Picture data sent in packet unit consisting of six block data from a receiving side interface A are received by a receiving side VTR B. An STA substitution circuit 35 detects an error signal indicating the existence of an error which is included in the block data, converts the error signal in the packet into a prescribed error pattern and writes the error pattern in a RAM 23. A recording/reproducing processing circuit 27 records/reproduces the data stored in the RAM 23 in/from a magnetic tape 29 and writes the reproduced data in the RAM 23. The reproduced data in the RAM 23 are decoded in each five block data, and if an error pattern is detected in the decoding, the processing is stopped and waits for succeeding five block data. When a preceding frame or five block data in a field are read out and processing, interpolated data can be obtained. |
