MAGNETIC ONE-COMPONENT COLOR TONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic one-component color toner excellent in chromaticity characteristics and to prevent the aggregation of the color toner or fine particles dispersed in the color toner by coating the surfaces of magnetic particles with coating layers whose color is other than black. SOLUTION: When additive layers 5 are formed on the surfaces of toner particles of a magnetic one-component color toner 10 contg. magnetic powder 2 and a colorant 4 dispersed in a resin binder 1, the surface of the magnetic powder 2 of a magnetic material such as magnetite (triiron tetroxide) is coated with a coating layer whose color is other than black. Blackening by the magnetic powder is made inconspicuous and the blackening of a developed electrostatic latent image is suppressed. Particularly in the case where the coating layer is white or has the same color as the colorant 4 or it is a scattering layer which scatters external light, a clear color close to the colorimetric purity of the colorant 4 is imparted to the chromaticity characteristics of the color toner 10 displayed by the colorant 4.
